Pls. check those mags again, I wish they were all that big, I have Kurils and New Britain posted, but the quakes there were not quite that big,<6m. The 6.3 was Salomon Islands next door to P.N.G., Kurils was 5.7, and Sandwich was under 6. Sorry to gripe but let's be accurate here. Still, you are very correct in the sudden increase in mags, it started with all 5's on the list back on the 22nd. Sorry to gripe at you, correct me if I'm missing something...mb.
