You'll be back. Every year about this time you and Don make these threats to never come back to EW, that you have some major project that everyone in the world is validating and that the days of EW are over. But I'm a betting man. And I'm willing to put my money that you will indeed be back-because you always do! Although I will acknowledge that the circumstances this time of you threatening to leave trump every other time by a huge margin, I am sure you will be back.

I hope in your break you will have the opportunity to have a "time out" of sorts and think about what has transpired. You are a delightful, intriguing, smart woman. And I've seen you charm the birds out of the trees, but on the other hand, well look what has happened this past week. You compare yourself to Susan Luci's character...well you are nothing like her. The difference is her character doesn't care what is said, perceived or acted upon otherwise. She just does what she does and what she wants and if you get in her way, lookout. I see the opposite in you Petra. You put EVERYTHING on hold to battle people or persons over ambiguity and concepts when you could be using that time to move forward on your eartone research, website, publishing and speaking.
