FYI: You may know this but dogs can and do display all types of behavior before a quake which include: hiding, howling, barking, whining, nesting, restlessness, aggression, and increased devotion to their animal guardians. They will often run around, and can bolt through gates, windows, or door. And, as Berkland has shown dogs (and cats) often will flee their homes. I'm assuming wild dogs are no different in most cases.
