GPS probably not. Regular seismometers, yes, if it was large enough. There may be ways to do it with the air blast or something. I don't think they will have any trouble finding this one just be eyewitnesses and seeing a blast area (?) But, they said it might be bigger than 1904...this is not the 1908 Tunguska in Siberia they are comparing it to...and I suspect that they are exaggerating, maybe a lot, by comparing it to an atomic bomb...or, at least, thunderstorms put off a lot of energy but don't generally level large areas. But, I have not checked on-line news today..
