Where do you live? I've forgotten. The NE definitely has its perk, mostly in education level, sophistocation, culture, etc. Still, a move is all contingent on the weather for us. We love our temperate climate. Never too cold or too hot. And we are just 90 minutes from SF. Ah, Central California. It rocks. (Pun intended.)
