I have lived in the Lakewood area my entire life - just north of Long Beach.

I started trying to learn about and prepare for earthquakes after the Whittier quake. I was a girl scout troop leader during the Landers/Big Bear quake and could see the ground ripple from my tent - this was maybe 75-80 miles from the epicenter.
