I'd much rather suffer through hot and dry than hot and humid any day, even if it does remind me of those pesky little earth tremors that ruin people's lives. It was definitely unseasonably warm on Feb. 8, 1971, the night before the Sylmar eq struck most of the L.A. area. I took a walk by myself around Westwood Village. It was also the night of a blue moon.
