Roger Larson, early plate tectonic |
I just received an email that said that Roger Larson died. He is one of the Gods or demi-gods of plate tectonics, working on marine geophysics. Among other things, he worked on the seafloor spreading between Baja and mainland Mexico, and much more recently, on the Cretaceous (=late Dinosaur age) voluminous volcanism that made unusually thick oceanic crust in part of the Pacific. He was a professor at University of Rhode Island. Follow Ups: ● Re: Roger Larson, early plate tectonic - Canie 19:58:06 - 5/4/2006 (36776) (0) |
