Hi Cal. I have no idea as to why you should feel sadden by my thinking the way I do. It’s not a question as to my being open or not. It’s a question as to whether animals can predict earthquakes or not. Maybe there are times they can, but how do I know when that time comes and the behavior isn’t related to something else? Neither of my two cats showed any unusual behavior before the Loma Prieta quake and I live 27 miles from the epicenter. Neither showed any unusual behavior before the Aug. 1998 M=5.4 quake and I live 6 miles from the epicenter of that quake.

You say your animals never give you false signals. Does that mean you watch them 24 hours a day? Who watches them when you’re asleep? Who watches them when you go shopping?
