Well in the past 10 years there have been a series of 6, 7 and 5 magnitude quakes in that area somewhere in the desert (Hector Mine, Landers, the 5 in June in Anza, etc). It reminds me of the Bay Area in the decade before 06, all the weaker strands going till the big one popped. But I have to say even with the quakes as small as 5, we really feel them here in the LA area, not bad, or major. But you know whats going on, I guess due to the basin sediement effect. I can only imagine how bad its going to move when the 8 hits that part of the San ANdreas.
