Don't forget the public schools. Children love to be a part of an awareness program. Get them excited and they will get their parents (well some of them) involved. If a school has an active PTA or parents group, they can spread the word also. Our earthquake kits for each room had a whistle in it as did all of the search and rescue packs. School districts today are being stretched thin and any help with quake awareness is needed. My school had a group of nearby parents that were ready to lend a hand in an emergency.
