Quake time for Southern Cal ? |
Its that pattern showing up again... I might expect a 4.0 or better for Southern Cal in the area South of Lat 34N to the Mexican border area - within 7-10 days DATE-(UTC)-TIME LAT LON DEP MAG Q COMMENTS These haven't quite travelled North but given this activity and the quake at the Revilla Gigedo islands, I'm expecting something local. At least more activity further north along the east pacific rise plate boundary. It typically follows that we get something in the magnitude range that is happening in the quakes coming north - in this case 4.1-4.7 - but it could be much bigger. If there is more activity in the Baja area (Gulf of california) then it is more likely that we will have one here. We can't ever expect people to evacuate an area - but we can suggest that you check your quake supplies (no help from government for at least 3 days and more likely 7-10) and be aware of your surroundings. Maybe it is a good time to not park under a bridge or in a parking structure? Review with your children what to do during a quake ? Review plans if a family gets separated. That sort of thing. Anyone else got anything for this area ?
