Maybe he doesn't know.....

Chris,

If he is a mathematician and not an earth scientist or a geologist, then maybe he doesn't know rock mechanics which seems to be an issue regarding me as well. At least I do know California and Baja geology quite well. However, it seems from what I've seen out there, if a geologist is willing to sign off on those predictions then you don't have to be a licensed earth scientist. But I could be wrong about that. The article is only part of the story and is not entirely factual, so you have to take some of it with a grain of salt.

As we all know, things get circulated around the Internet which have little basis in fact. I'm sure John V knows the facts, however, it may not be appropriate for him to discuss them here. I think we can all be understanding of his position. I certain am.

However, I would like to see the infinite details of what the CEPEC finds acceptable and otherwise. From what I can see so far, they do not stick hard and fast to the rules regarding everyone. And to that end; perhaps when things settle down with the PSA's and Whistle programs I might have time to investigate that a little further. Perhaps an historical account of their decisions might be interesting.

And I do agree, much of what was in the article was horribly inflamatory.
