Hi Cal. I can assure you there are 100s of buildings in San Francisco and the Bay Area in general that don’t meet the code. They don’t even come close and every one knows it. The main reason for not retrofitting them is the lack of money. Some buildings have been abandoned because they are unsafe to work in even without the threat of a major quake. Most of these are buildings that were built immediately after the 1906 quake. Take Care…Don in creepy town
