My Predictions For 2006

1. No earth scientist will issue a public earthquake prediction which will result in an acceptable hit on all parameters.
2. Australia will not have a 9.0 or greater quake, but may have an 8.0 during 2006.
3. California will experience at least one 6.0 quake during 2006.
4. Earthquake preparedness will take an upswing in public dissemination, however, only 10% of those who have heard the message will act.
5. Worldwide, 10,000 people will expire as a result of earthquakes.
6. At least one very noted earth scientist will die during 2006.
7. While SAFOD may reveal new information about Parkfield, none of it will advance scientific earthquake predictions.
8. Baja will continue its upswing in seismicity, which could result in more than one 5.0 earthquake and one 6.0 or greater earthquake in and area west of Ensenada, east of Guadalupe Victoria and north of Lazaro Cardenas.
9. Mt. St. Helens will have one eruption which will be noted as larger than many in the past few years, however, well below anything that transpired in 1980.
10. At least one worldwide earthquake will cause a tsunami, but unlike Banda Aceh.
11. The Coast of South America will continue its active seismicity pattern with at least one 7.0 earthquake and 3 or more 6.0 earthquakes.
