Re: City of Seattle Question - NWers Question |
Hi Petra Good question, tough answer. Unfortunately there may not be a physical location per say for a Seattle bureau. The only OFFICIAL CNN facilities where there is active news gathering, production, etc is New York, Washington, Atlanta and Los Angeles-and even Atlanta their HQs is sketchy at that. They DO assign reporters to Chicago, Boston, CHicago, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, etc. These reporters most certaintly will tag a story with "reporting from the Seattle bureau, I'm so and so" But they usually borrow office space, camera equipment, etc on the local network affiliates assigned to that area. I know for a fact that at one time KTVU in the Bay Area was a facility CNN used as well as KRON. Now that FOX News is such a competitor, I doubt KTVU is used anymore, but it did allow CNN to sign off w/ a San Francisco "bureau" Possibly KING TV in Seattle maybe the home to CNN. If there is ANYTHING, anything at all outside of a borrowed corner at a local tv station to give credence to a bureau it would be no bigger than a 2 person office suite. These same TV stations are the same facilities used for interviews. I.E. if Anderson in NY wants to interview an export on the Cascadia Subduction zone in Seattle, that interviee would most likley be sitting in a studio at KING TV. Hope this makes sense.
