Catalina Island? |
Chris, Thank you. The linked article says a 7.6 under Catalina Island would generate a tsunami on the SoCal coast, but I think it might be to far south to affect Long Beach. A 7.6 25 miles off shore might not create enough damage in a hypothetical disaster scenario. I'm trying to create a very damaging earthquake and almost equally damaging tsunami in/or around Long Beach. Are there any other off shore islands at least as close as Catalina, but further north? It doesn't have to be a big island, just one that has the same substructure as Catalina and can create a large earthquake and a decent sized tsunami.
