Hi All. I thought I would put my two cents worth in here. I don’t believe there will be a quake in the Parkfield area. I check the dilational stress twice a day and there is no build up of strain in the area. I know from past experience the dilational strain meters for that area are able to detect the build up of strain for a 3.2Ml quake at a distance of 6 miles. This of course is for the San Andreas Fault only. The three quakes SW and WSW of New Idria are very near the New Idria thrust fault. At present I have been unable to find any earthquake data for that fault and it is not listed in the USGS catalog as being a active fault. These three quakes plus the ones near Coalinga and Mendota suggest that there may be some strain building on the eastern side of the Diablo Range. Take Care…Don in creepy town.
