Re: Not So Zero |
Hi Cathryn, Seismologist Kerry Sieh (he) was in Sumatra prior to the 9.0 quake last December. For reasons unknown he thought that the local citizens needed to know what to do if there was a tsunami as a result of a major earthquake. So he had 5,000 papers printed with information and with some help circulated them to the natives. The man had a great reputation and obviously cared very much about the plight of the islanders to act so valiantly just prior the event. So though, I haven't heard if any of the survivors survived as a result of his message. I hope it worked, even if for only one. It would be heart warming to know something positive resulted. Apparently he has published all of his papers regarding the earthquake at this time. Petra Follow Ups: ● Thanks, Petra (NT) - Cathryn 18:32:57 - 12/25/2005 (32466) (0) |
