A Humbling Week For Petra |
Hi All, I thought I would tell you that I had a truly humbling week. I was trying to gather information to assimilate all of the details for my new science project and I could not believe that every single person I asked for help, either did already or said they would and some even offered the help of others too. This is an amazing turn around. To write to folks before and not even get an answer to those who answered and said they would do something without getting paid for it, was unreal. For awhile I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone, but now I'm sure I'm not. So, John, Chris, Roger and all, I guess maybe I owe some scientists an apology. See, I'm big enough to admit it. Not all scientists are scum. Though I'll reserve the title for maybe a few. However, for the girl that aspires to "do science" your way out there in Seismo Land are a seismologist, a dancing grant writer, a few people from Seismo Tech and a couple of college professors who think I'm worthy of their time. Now with four people helping me to write my proposal, I am positive I'll write a proper one and I hope the people who fund want to say yes too. I know science is slow, so if I can get back to my study area with the proper equipment within two years, I'll be a very happy camper. This week has been like cramming for an exam. There are more details than in Heaven or Earth I had to learn or learn of much yet to do, but far better that than being bored. I'm sure I expanded my vocabulary by 25 words and a few catch phrases as well. But in the "can do world", I see it is possible to get this done in short order with all the hands at the wheel. I'm jazzed, Petra Follow Ups: ● Re: A Humbling Week For Petra - Canie 21:58:53 - 12/9/2005 (31746) (0) |
