I'm already very well aware of the situation at Lake Tahoe. My younger son, who graduated from UNR, lived in South Tahoe and worked 10 years for the government agency that oversees maintaining the beauty and integrity of the Tahoe basin. I remember him telling me about the possibility of an earthquake occurring near Rubicon Point and the damage the resultant tsunami and seiche waves would do to the casinos, hotels, and homes on the south shore. The loss of life from such an event could be phenomenal. Panic alone, and the race for higher ground, would be life-threatening.
