Re: maybe I wasn't clear

Hi John. I don’t hear what Petra and others hear, but that doesn’t mean they don’t hear whatever it is that they hear. You don’t hear it, but again that doesn’t mean they don’t hear anything.

Petra and others hear most quakes, but they to don’t know why, or what it is they hear. She said there was going to be a quake of at least M=4.8 in Parkfield hours before it occurred. That was the loudest tone she had heard for that area. She missed the magnitude for the quake because she has never heard an M=6.0 quake from that area before.

You and other scientist have a problem with things you don’t understand, can’t test, or make a model of. Welcome to the club. Petra has been trying to understand what it is she hears for years. She has no idea as to what it is, why she hears them and how she hears them. She can cover her ears, but she still hears them.

I sometimes have to wonder if scientists reject something because it is something they can’t do despite all their research, time, money, education and a multitude of other reasons they have put into looking for something, or to be able to do something.

If Petra knew what it is she is hearing she would tell everyone. If she understood it she would tell everyone.

I suspect that there have been times she wished she could turn off what ever it is that she is hearing. She has learned to live with the rejection of the scientific community. Maybe its time they learned to live with the possibility that there might be some people who can do things they can’t. Take Care…Don in creepy town
