Hi Cathryn, There isn't any "normal" time frame. It used to be we would allow ten days, but when looking at the results and they were coming in, but later, we made adjustments. So far my experience has been between 45 minutes and 30 days. The quakes up here on the RCF come in relatively fast, about 2 or 3 days, but they are small and maybe that has a bearing on it. We really don't know everything yet and that's what makes it interesting. But our somewhat newest discovery is that the men in the group seem to hear much longer ear tones than the women frequently. I do hear long one's sometimes, but once they reach 30 seconds I stop counting because that would be unknown territory for me, so I just don't want bother with it. Ear tone research would yeild considerably more detail than I provide as I don't have the time for the little details. If someone could sit down and perhaps chart off the quakes on different faults and see if there is a time element for those faults specifically we might know something we don't know now as an example. Perhaps the depth of quakes has a time element too? I just don't know. But one day I probably will and maybe its worth saving until the end? Petra
