Maybe you measure space-time continuum, something that bends the path of photon emission. If photon emission is changed, then the cohesive structure of the planet earth would also be changed, thus creating conditions conductive to seismic activity in the crustal tectonics of the planet. Pure speculation, but would this theoretical approach be anywhere close to what you observe?
