Statistics for Greece

Thanks for your provocative comments that regard my personality. But lets leave yourr personality diagnosis aside and get things clear now. When i said that we get a M(Local)=4 in Greece "every day" it was a matter of speach so that "everyone" understands the point i was trying to make which was that Antonio Romino's prediction regarding a M=4 in Greece for the given time window in June IS LIKELY TO HAPPEN DUE TO THE STATISTICS OF OCCURENCE FOR SUCH EVENTS IN GREECE.
If you take NOA's catalog from 1990 as you attampted to do to end of 1999 for M (Local)=4 events you have a total of 467 events and that gives an average of one M(Local) =4 every 7.8 days
!I hope that clarifies my point that such predictions are like saying that "the sun will rise tommorow".
Note that the M reported by the USGS is TOTALLY different than the M(local) reported by NOA, for your comparisons sake.
I have never and never will discourage anyone from earthquake prediction research or any other form of research for that matter and if i didnt believe in the topic i would not be working full time just on that topic !
So you got the "wrong number" as far as i'm concerned David. Sorry to disapoint you on this blind diagnosis you attempted to make.
Best regards
