LAX |
You mention when you fly into LAX you see this...but where you really see this is when you fly out of LAX. If you choose a window seat on the A side and have a flight anywhere east of LAX (Dallas, Atlanta, NY etc) you will get quite the view. On take off the planes fly straight west out of LAX for about 7 miles, then make 90 degree turn to south. It is here that you fly at about 6-9,000 feet off the coast of Palos Verdes. Absolutely stunning. I never could put words to what I was seeing till now, yes it is an uplift of some sort. Shear cliffs rising up out of the ocean and of course the muti million dollar homes built into them at the very top. Anyway its about here the planes make another 90 degree turn and head inland over Torrance and then on east to whereever. Next time any of you have such a flight plan, get an A seat, pref. in front of or behind wing (as to not block your view) and you will see what Chris is talking about.
