Canie, I just made that long post on the Ramapo fault (above) so don't feel like a long post right now...That thrust was modeled and studied by K. Mueller. That paper was, I think, in Geology. I'm pretty sure they confused uplift with respect to sea level with increase in structural relief...so they underestimated the slip rates and the hazard...possibly by a lot. I'd have to look at that paper and the one in Geology by Rivero et al to see how the San Joaquin Hills thrust and Oceanside thrust relate.. they may be the same fault, or they may be at least related...
