Dirt on my knees? I wore jeans...LOL I didn't win...but believe me those that did really worked for the prize. There were some amazing costumes. But the food was good and we had a great time.

But I did end up meeting someone when I was outside today. He used to work for the USGS in 1977 and his territory was from South of Menlo Park through Central, CA. He spent a lot of time in Parkfield. He was part of a contract crew that repaired the instruments in those days. After that he worked at Stanford for 8 years. He's now retired and has his boat in the marina adjacent to my office.
