Hi Canary, I just realized I had made a report for this event on the board about a week ago. So this one will match my report for two events heard on 9/23. And reported here on 9/24. I see I was slightly off on my count as the distances were 44 and 46 miles and I would have expected them at 38 miles. Send me an e-mail and I'll give you the details and then you can decide if this is for you....petrachallus@iscweb.com Glen can do this as well, if he's interested.....Petra map 2.7 2005/10/09 02:01:29 37.853N 122.240W 6.1 4 km ( 2 mi) NNW of Piedmont, CA Distance Calculation Results Distance between 37.85N 122.24W and 38.46N 122.50W is 44.4999 statute miles This calculation assumes the earth is a perfect sphere with a radius of 3963.1 statute miles 3.2 2005/09/24 04:25:16 37.833N 122.216W 6.0 2 km ( 1 mi) NE of Piedmont, CA

What happened was I heard a very high pitched moderately loud sound lasting less than one second. The first time there was a two second trailer and the second had a three second trailer. These have to be for local events.
