How about a "movie"?

We show a basemap of Shan's predictable area. Quakes of mag 5+ appear in sequence starting from some earlier year. When Shan opens a window, it lights up and stays on until it closes. Quake plotting continues.

If Shan calls a hit, that quake lights up and the scene freezes until you hit a key, giving you time to study the match.

Now all we need is a big government grant to get it going....
