Ok . . . This isn't easy. But I'm gonna go for it. (When I make a postinglike this I feel that the FBI will apprehend me, then the California Bar will take my license away, etc, etc . . .) There was a day back in about 1988 or 1989 when I predicted a quake hours before it happened. It might have been total coincidence . . . I might have been keen to something. I was in college (CSUN) and working for this chesy operation within Disney in Burbank. I worked in that Disney building off of the 101 (you know the one that looks like the water cooler). I walked into work one day and uncharacteristically said, "There's gonna be an earthquake today." About three hours later we were bounced out of or seats as a 4.0 or 4.5 shaker hit the building. I was pretty freaked out. My co-workers were pretty freaked out. The night before the Northridge quake I couldn't get a grip. I was so wound up. I tried to relax. I must have drank a half liter of Southern Comfort to try and calm down. It might have had to do with personal issues at the time, or with some tension I was dealing with. Either way I got that "cat on the hot tin roof" feeling. After the quake hit there was such a feeling of relief. (I know - it's weird.)Anyone else feel this feeling of relief? These are two examples of notable events. There have been others. I guess the best way to put it is that when there's been an appreciable quake, I've never been surprised. Like it or not, I deal with this and I've sort of put two and two together. Maybe it's just coincidence. So, here's the deal: Sizable quake in Southern California populated area this side of the summer solstice. Yes, I know it sounds vague. However, this is something that has been going on since about October of last year. I wondered, is it millennium hysteria? Or, what? No. I think - for whatever reason - something has been . . . building (for lack of a better term). It's something that maybe should have already happened, but hasn't. I think that we really are in touch with what is happening with the Earth. However, we are so bombarded by other radiation - energy - that our feelings for this get distorted or blocked by all of the "noise" to which we are surrounded. Have you ever stopped to think that maybe the television screaming in our face might make us a little less sensitive to what "natural" forces we might be sensitive? How about cellular energy, radio waves, artificial light, voice, computers, air conditioning, dishwashers . . . the rage from people giving us the finger on the freeway?? (Ever try listening to two radios playing at the same time?) Maybe they all suffocate the "noise of nature" to which we would otherwise be receptive. Accordingly, thoe people that are supersensitive to the "noise of nature" appear as esoteric freaks. Maybe we can all tune in. Anyway . . . there you have it. (I'd never make this speechin front of a jury!!) Yeah: this side of the solstice.
