I agree completely. We have to be able to take care ourselves for a few days at the very least. During the Cedar fire we had no electricity for 6 days. I was one of 7 people in our neighborhood who chose to stay. As a result we were cutoff from the outside world for three days. We knew that once we left we couldn't get back in. It took our neighbors nearly five days to return home. We survived because we were prepared.

Here is something else I'm concerned about here in San Diego. If a major quake occurred here, I fear there will be a massive rush on our borders from the south. I'm not sure how that would play out, but it could get very ugly.
