It Was A Petra Day

Hi All. The past week has been a Petra week. As most of you already know Petra has a habit of getting herself into trouble. Most of the time she is aware of it, but there are times when she has no idea that she goofed.

There was the time she glued her fingers together trying to attach artificial nails to her fingers. Then there was the time she sprayed room deodorant on herself mistaking it for body spray.

For the past week she has been complaining about her left hoof hurting. She has no idea as to it's hurting only that it does. It is also swollen.

Then a couple of days ago while at the store she bent over to look at something and hit her head hard enough to raise a bump. I still don't understand exactly how she managed to do that.

Then there was this morning. We went to the little town of Olema to pay a visit to the San Andreas Fault and walk the "earthquake trail." The trip started out normal enough, but knowing Petra, things can change real fast. We stopped at the gas station to get gas. Petra used her credit card to fill up the tank. She got back in the car while I filled up the tank. She wanted me to get the credit slip. It was at this point that things went all weird. I told Petra that I couldn't get a credit slip. She said just a minute. I waited but no Petra. Then I heard her call "Don." I looked around still no Petra. She called again, but I still couldn't see her. I then walked to the other side of the car and what do you know. There is Petra. She was lying on the ground moaning and laughing at the same time. She said her purse tripped her and she had charley horses in both of her legs. Don't ask I'm still trying to figure it out. Her story is that she caught her left foot in the strap of her purse when she went to get out and the next thing she knew she was on the ground.

I lifted her up which was no easy task. Have you ever tried lifting a person who is moaning and laughing at the same time. Believe me they aren't much help. I got her back on her feet and leaned her up against the car. She had a heck of time getting back in the car.

We got to the "earthquake trail" without further incident, but while walking along the trail she almost twisted her ankle and came very close to backing into a blackberry bush. With Petra around we don't need an earthquake. Take Care…Don in creepy town
