not a thrust

This was not a thrust if the focal mechanism is correct...it has more right-lateral than reverse. What people don't understand is that strike-slip faults need not be vertical or even steep. I have a manuscript in revision after review on this subject (for Santa Monica-Dume fault), and am co-author on published paper and manuscript in preparation on the North Anatolia fault....when I non-vertical strike-slip fault goes into a bend the slip can be oblique. I could open the Community Fault Model and look at the San Andreas in this area....but recall that C.N. said that, at least near Palm Springs, the San Andreas strand(s) there had moderate NE dips.....
I'll be away from email and internet (unless I go to library) for a couple days...so may miss whatever happens next...which could be nothing...I just feel it is not done yet though (non-scientific thought...).
