The Earthquake Boogeyman

Hi All,

I love to hear how people feel after earthquakes happen because there is a rather strange psychology that occurs afterwards. Last night's 7.2 event off of Ferndale didn't really disturb people, but the tsunami warning was what brought the earthquake boogeyman out last night. People were really amazed because they couldn't imagine a tsunami affecting places close to where they live. But thanks in a strange way to all of the press coverage of the Indonesian tsunami everyone knew what a tsunami was.

Today I was listening to my usual Christian Rock station on the way home and they have extremely short news breaks once an hour which normally last 3 minutes. Tonight they mentioned the Anza quake and the MTJ event and said, "do you suppose that means the big one is coming." How interesting. That newscast came from somewhere in the mid-west. (says a lot huh?)

Actually, the boogeyman paid a visit to me as well. I had a really difficult time getting to sleep last night because I too feel the Bay Area really is ready for some kind of event and I'm hoping it won't be too much.

Anyway, more signs of a major order that the coastal shove is indeed still creating those off shore quakes. As to what more we'll see, who knows?
