Hi All. Okay. Lets say that it was an M>5.6 quake. Why would they say it was an M>5.2? This is after the fact. It isn’t going to change anything that happened during the quake. It sure isn’t going to decrease the possibility of a larger quake occurring in the same area. The M>5.6 was an automatic solution. As more data comes in the quake magnitude could increase or it could decrease. To drop the magnitude of the quake arbitrarily for any reason other then that it was an M>5.2 doesn’t make any sense.
