Canie...the Islands are there because they are going up. The rest of the Borderland is wet because it is going down. And I went to school for 100 years to learn that. For the northern Islands, yes. squeeze play: Pacific Plate crashing into NAM plate along Big Bend of San Andreas. For the other Islands, mayu be restraining bend in other strike slip faults...and/or more distant effects ralted to Sam Andreas....Chris
