Hi All, Earthquakes in odd places frequently makes me think of Far Field Aftershock Triggering and in this case it came from a lower than 7.0 quake in the Kermadec Islands. 2005/05/16 03:54:14 32.74S 179.32W 34.0 6.6 SOUTH OF THE KERMADEC ISLANDS As you can see it looks like Guatemala got hit twice and we had a quake in Missouri though not a strange to quakes, yet not frequent either. And hello,Oklahoma, a place which has a history of very few earthquakes. 2005/05/18 20:30:29 14.72N 89.52W 35.7 5.2 GUATEMALA 2005/05/18 19:59:42 38.41N 93.99W 5.0 3.3 MISSOURI 2005/05/16 22:29:46 35.22N 97.58W 5.0 2.8 OKLAHOMA 2005/05/16 19:34:40 13.32N 90.71W 73.6 4.6 OFFSHORE GUATEMALA I hope the Bay of Bengal stays quiet as it was right on the 103° line and we know what whoppers that place can have. Did anyone else see anything else that fits? Petra
