Solar data from http://www.sec.noaa.gov/ SPECIAL NOTE Seige by Volcano Over? Not only are the week's quakes of lower magnitude, but Kilauea has lost its hot lava fingers entering the sea, Talang volcano stopped erupting, others are under less high an alert, and even on Mount St. Helens things are moving more slowly. The recent volcanism continues with Anatahan and Colima, and the the new Samoan seamount probably belongs to that time. A couple of weeks around the next perigee should clarify whether this is just a pause or starts the quieting before the solar minimum. Comments or questions are welcome. Donald
