Some people are like fire and ice to each other, been there, done that.

I was told to talk to McEvilly and another by Lind Gee. She said they had a great story to tell me about Parkfield. I can recall a phone conversation when I was told about the project and I said, "I thought you were going to tell me this was the new Area 51 West" and this person said, "No, you'd have to listen to Art Bell for that." Then there was this huge laugh.

As for McEvilly, I liked him very much. Especially his twinkling eyes when he talked about Parkfield. I remember sitting in his office on one occasion and though we were having a nice chat, every ten minutes when the data stream arrived from Parkfield his eyes went to his computer. He couldn't wait to see what arrived. But I think even then I knew one or more of the Parkfield group was not going to make it to the big event. The sad part is that if he had still been here, I could have easily picked up the phone and told him to sit on his instruments, or go because it was on its way and he would have.
