Re: A Predictors Respository - A Possible Case History?

Good examples (even if the Capitol Records Building is on Sunset, not Hollywood Blvd. To see if hovering over the latter would certainly get a lot of people's attention.)

Still... how would you propose to "police" this repository such that you don't get a bunch of loonies, who report their every biological symptom as an earthquake precursor as an omen for an earthquake to come, even though in most cases those earthquakes never arrive?

When I left Syzygy some years ago, there was a fellow doing just that. "I had a twinge in my left toe, which means that somewhere in Southern California there will be an earthquake." No exact time, place, or magnitude.

I imagine your repository would not be for predictions, but for observations only. So this guy would report his twinge one day, and his stomach flutters the next.

I do think this is a great idea, but how would you a) disseminate the information to the masses (not just earthquake buffs) that it existed, and b) weed out the major loons who would post daily about this particular ailment or that/dreams/messages from God/ etc.? Note the emphasis on "daily."

Don't get me wrong. I think this idea is very intriguing. But I can see the possiblity for misuse, and then real observations would be watered down such that one couldn't see the proverbial forest for the trees.

Or ... would you automatically ignore the daily posters and then look for spikes in activity?
