The activity that you are seeing is actually fairly normal for the basin. The basin doesn't get a whole lot of micro quake activity like areas to the east and north do. WHen there is activity its almost always along the Newport-Inglewood system (Inglewood, LAX area, Marina Del Rey...OCCASIONALLY Century City, Valley and Hollywood). One thing I've noticed is when there is a micro quake further north a second one usually appears nearby.
