Hello, I am new to this forum and look forward to participating. My name is Catherine Clark and I am an amatuer geologist originally from Seattle, WA, now living in Chicago, IL. I have been following the dome-building activity at St. Helens until the recent earthquake and tsunami diverted my interest. I have been reading the postings with great interest. I experienced the earthquake in Seattle in 1965 and my family remembers the 1949 earthquake as they lived in Tacoma at the time (and still do). I have been researching on my own the CSZ and the New Madrid Seismic Zone. I came on this forum through a Yahoo alert in my email regarding the recent earthquakes in the Indonesia/Sumatra region. My own personal interest has been mainly in Cascade Volcanism and the Pacific/North American plate movement, and am also very interested in Yellowstone Volcanism.
