Be Smart - Ask The IRS |
I'll tell you all something everyone should know. If you have a tax related question, ask the IRS. Do not believe an attorney or an accountant or anyone who thinks they know, because they aren't the IRS who knows for sure. My question to the IRS 4 years ago netted me $25,000 for being smart enough to ask. Two attorneys and a paralegal all had it wrong. It took a bit of explaining after the IRS gave me the information, which was so darn simple. Yet these "know it alls" just couldn't see the light of day. I kept telling them to call the IRS if they didn't believe me, but eventually with extremely simple math, dividing one piece of paper in 4 parts with folds did the trick. So everyone, pick up the phone and call. They will tell you the truth and may also direct you to printed information which they offer. At least once a week I tell people that car salesmen do not have an insurance license and I don't have a license to sell cars either. Let us all keep to what we know and are learned in. Petra
