Politics - What Reasoning? |
Hi All, Okay, I'll give you my two cents and they are very well balanced because I didn't vote and have not for many years. I haven't like a single president since Jimmy Carter and though Jimmy is and was a wonderful person, unless you can play all the games people play in Washington, you won't get very far. And Jimmy knows that pretty well. Personally from the femine side of issues, George Bush ranks a total zero in my book. He is not for women, or women's issues. He acts like someone who is twice his age and expects women to live a Victorian lifestyle. As for Kerry, well, I don't place much hope for him, but if he makes good friends on Capital Hill, then maybe he can be a real player. Then we can see what the truth may be. Today its just a lot of voice with no impact because he is only a person supposing he may wish to do something, but without support, he would be a lame duck president. And we have to ask, did Bush really win the last election? The total votes were never counted, so we don't know, do we? And lastly, and most importantly for me personally, after being called numerous times to serve as a juror and found they were pulling me from voter registration I got sick of it and decided I just wasn't going to be part of the pool if I could help it. Now they get me on my drivers license. My numbers must be great for jury selection. I'd like to meet another person like me who has been called and served so many times they were next up for Grand Jury service. You know, where you serve for a year at their will, whenever they call and for any length of time, at a moments notice, mind you. Don't anyone tell me I should vote, I won't, not ever. America has gone to hell in a handbasket and it is on a downward spiral. While 60% of workers are women, they still make less money than men. Criminals have more rights than victims. And the "me generation" is about to take its rightful place in politics during the next ten years. These are the kids that have been given everything by their parents and don't appreciate anything. Their presence in power is really scary. Thank God, I'll be out of the US by then. Petra
