Honshu aftershocks
|

Yo all....The Honshu quake has now been given a Moment Magnitude of 6.5. But, it has 2 aftershocks of M6 or larger and several in the high 5 range......This is a similar size main shock to the Northridge quake, and is the same type...but Northridge, I think, did not have as many aftershocks this large??(or, am I wrong). So, why this one is having such large aftershocks, and what it means, would be of interest to me. OK...got to review some papers...Chris
