I linked the quake...is this the one you mean? 6.5s are not uncommon in that part of the world. There was a 6.8 in the Solomon Islands 6 hours before. I had commented on this page on pairs of M6+ quakes a few thousand km apart, but Roger looked into it and did not see an obvious correlation. |
