I can't say I recommend LA all that highly, although it's ok up here in the Santa Monica Mts. You wouldn't save much money switching from Aptos to near UCLA, as I'm sure you are aware. White Sands? It is probably less expensive. (Just kidding.)

Just returned from the SCEC annual meeting, and Chris was everywhere there, maybe he'll give us a run-down.
