So I can't get the link to post. In summary the French are training rats with little backpacks to scour through rubble and look for trapped people. When they see them they will recognize these people and their brains will give off a neuro hormone that the little backpacks will pick up and alert rescuers where the person is.

I don't know what would be worse, having a building cave in on you during major quake or the rats that come after and are sniffing at you...
