Yo all,
The job below would be perfect for someone some of us know who used to post here...so I sent it to him at his 2 year old email address. Otherwise, the link shows the qualifications...probably only Roger and John would meet those qualifications of those who post here. It is not a good fit for me, although I just applied for another USGS job at the same location.
I just noticed something...it is for a low-grade geophysicist...

This position is in the Central Region Geologic Hazards Team (GHT), Geologic Discipline, headquartered in Golden, Colorado.

The incumbent works as a team member assisting higher-graded geophysicists in designing and developing new earthquake analysis and reporting tools. Tests and develops software and procedures forming the core of Advanced National Seismic System's (ANSS) national earthquake alert and information center. Serves as a primary liaison between the USGS’ NEIC and supporting regional seismic monitoring networks. Provides support for processing geophysical data from a network of remote geophysical observatories through professional knowledge of geophysics, computer and computer programming languages. Modifies or develops programs for dissemination of significant geophysical information to emergency groups. Incumbent has primary coordination, communication, and oversight responsibilites of the technical working groups tasked with planning and documenting future network requirements and operation activities under ANSS. Conducts investigations on the application and use of disparate dataset for use in assessing the impact of damaging earthquakes.
